Gazprom, whose export strategy involves participation in energy generation activities on key sales markets, confirmed plans to construct a large TPP in the German town of Lubmin near Greifswald, the final point of the Russian-German gas pipeline Nord Stream. As German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) wrote quoting Gazprom's deputy board chairman Alexander Medvedev, the gas concern is going to build this thermal power plant with production capacity of over 1,000 MW in partnership with E.ON.

Finam Investment Company has revised its target price for Severstal's shares from $14.30 to $23.33, cutting the stock recommendation from Buy to Hold. Finam analysts think that the factors producing a positive impact on the metal major's securities are the favorable conditions on the rolled products market and also the company's aggressive expansion into the precious metals sector.
