Svyazinvest shareholders will be able to give their stamp of approval to the holding's new charter at an EGM which is scheduled for the second half of October, a source close to the holding's BoD told Interfax. As the same source added, at an August 28 AGM the holding's shareholders will elect a new BoD. At a next meeting the BoD will set the date for an EGM to approve the new edition of the charter that was coordinated among all interested ministries and agencies. As wired earlier, relevant ministries and agencies decided at a conciliatory meeting Friday to compile a negative directive for the approval of the new edition of Svyazinvest's charter.

Aug 24. So far, VTB has no plans to buy back its stocks to regulate their market value, the bank said in a press release. "At present, VTB has no plans to buy back its securities in order to regulate their market value" – the lender's press release said. Reports published by news agencies that VTB could start buying back its equities are at odds with the real state of affairs, the lending institution emphasized.

Light, sweet crude for September delivery shed $1.72 to $69.40 a barrel on NYMEX. Crude oil prices dropped below $70 a barrel Tuesday, and gasoline and natural gas prices also extended their sharp losses, with traders betting that demand is falling and supplies are safe. There are two more months of hurricane season left to go, though. For now, energy prices are on the decline, but if a storm comes along that disrupts the oil or natural gas production along the Gulf Coast, we could still see a rebound from the current 2-month lows. Russian companies that mull going public this autumn will be unable to sell their stocks at the prices that their peers managed to enjoy this spring, and IPO contenders will have to temper their appetite in the foreseeable future, investment bankers polled by Interfax-AFI believe. At the same time this does not mean that the string of IPOs slated for this autumn will not get off the ground, investment bankers noted.
